Course completed

I received a grade for the signature assignment already! I submitted it a few days ago.

A few days before that signature assignment was due....
I was busy, stressed, and not feeling well. I was worried I would not complete the assignment (and maybe fail the course). I "kicked into gear," worked and workked, and finally submitted something. I did what I could in the time I had. I needed a little more time for some final touches.

Week 7 assignment completed and submitted

I completed and submitted the week 7 assignment. I liked the assignment - I basically pulled together a list of the books, articles, and other resources I found useful during the course and made decisions on/about the 23 resources I wanted to include in the paper, how I wanted to "organize" the 23, and how much I wanted to write about each.

The paper:
Twenty three computer networking resources

I had trouble adding the paper to Academia.edu (so no update to Twitter).

Working on week 1 paper

For several hours today, I worked on the week 1 paper. I searched for articles, thought about what I would include in the paper (my angle/approach/focus) and prepared an outline. The outline is really helpful because there is a lot of "stuff" to include in the 5-7 page paper (details of each layer of OSI model, critique of OSI model etc.).

I received a grade for the first activity. I think this means I do not need to prepare a response. I will look into it.

Post completed

I found/read some good resources then started writing (the post). I ended with a paragraph of about 215 words - a little more than the required 150-200 words.

Working on post...

A post on the value and importance of data communication protocols is due today. I am currently reading the required articles for the week. Then I will search for a few related articles and prepare a first draft. Lots of work ahead!

(I actually caught/watched the last 15-20 minutes of The Price Is Right today. Reminds me of this day https://www.instagram.com/p/BPaaAgAhmEI/?taken-by=moorefo1picblog. The showcases on the show were interesting. The winner missed the price of her showcase - a showcase that included "crown jewels" - by $2,473.)

I now have the week 1 assignments

Turns out that the new course is a lot like the networking course I completed at UMBC (has similar content).  Two assignments due this week:

I do not need a textbook to complete the assignments.

As shown below, there are some problems due to the system "conversion"...inconsistent dates, I do not have the syllabus etc. I expected some of this. Things will get better as I get used to the changes.

(Note 2016 date below)

Course starts today

The course starts today (thanks to my Academic Advisor for making the requested change!)

Course to start on 4/10/2017

I sent an email to my Academic Advisor requesting the new start date: 4/10/2017 - next Monday. I did not have a look at the course materials, but the course - MIS-7004: IT Data Communications Management - seems to be more technical than others.
